Hi all,

The battery power on my iPhone ran out. Once I charged it again, it required me to renter my unlock code as normal. I entered my normal unlock code, but the phone didn't recognize it. I have tried multiple times and am now locked out 15 minutes each time. The strange thing is that I never changed my unlock code!

Even stranger though is that I noticed I had some texts on the lock screen, but it was showing the telephone numbers and not my contacts names. This indicates that somehow my accounts were logged out.

Anyone else ever had a similar situation and if so, what was your fix? I would appreciate any tips you might have. It seem the only fix I can find is a reset.

Thanks

no, its definitely my phone and was working fine before the battery ran out.

It sounds like someone puts your iPhone into lost mode.
Wonder where you buy your iPhone before.
And perhaps you need to try a restore, a DFU restore and hope iTunes don't ask you to turn off find iPhone.

Thanks for everyone's input. I had to erase the phone via Find My Phone and then restore it form an iCloud backup. It is backup and running fine now. I still don't know what caused the phone to lock since I didn't change the code. It has always been my phone. Oh well it is working again and I will hope the same doesn't happen again.

The contacts weren't displaying because on a reset of a locked iPhone names are concealed from their phone #'s until its unlocked. This only happens once, once you unlock and relock the phone the contact names are displayed.

I notice this every morning if I let my iPhone die the previous day.

Congrats. I would keep my iPhone charged.
