Locked Up

My iPhone has locked up in the on mode and no buttons or touch screen actions do anything. Even popped out the SIM card. Any idea how to reset this thing when nothing works? I tried plugging it into the PC to try and re-sync and the PC doesn’t see it. If I call the iPhone it just goes to voice mail like it is turned off.

Have you tried pressing and holding the home and top botton at the same time for about 10 seconds.
