Last year, I upgraded to the iPhone 15 Pro from the iPhone 12 Pro Max because I was passing it on to my dad and didn't need to sell it. This year, as long as the iPhone 16 Pro camera is as good as the iPhone 16 Pro Max, I will upgrade again.

My question is, because this wasn't something I did last year, I didn't pay attention. However, I saw on this forum that after Apple's announcement in September, people started locking in their prices with places like Music Magpie or other websites that buy iPhones. So:

  1. Do you do this on the day of the announcement or a few days before?
  2. How long do these quotes last, and can they be extended? If so, how?
  3. Is it worth it? For example, if the new iPhone costs £1,100 and my quote is £600, I see that as paying £500 for a new iPhone.

Historically, the older an iPhone gets, the less valuable it becomes. As a trend, an iPhone becomes less valuable as every day passes though the trend is more in steps every few months months than a straight line

Your best bet is to lock a quote the day the event is announced. or the day before if possible.
