Guys I need some help please. All of a sudden tonight, the notifications on my Lock Screen are showing a count on the app icon which shows how many notifications are in the stack. How did this happen? And more importantly, how can I turn this off please?

“Turn it off” - turn what off? The notifications? The stack?

What is that you’re looking for it to do differently?

Hmm - don’t know that I’ve seen that icon… probably wouldn’t have noticed if it was there though.

Is it only happening with Ring app? I use HomeKit so wouldn’t be able to test Ring.

Hi mate, this is happening across all apps - mail, BBC, WhatsApp, Messages.

This just started happening yesterday evening.

Wondering whether it hs anything to do with Sequoia's new iPhone mirroring as I tried that for the first time yesterday.

Not seeing it myself ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Probably some setting. No idea which though.

This was changed in 18.1 B6. No way to revert to previous behavior.

Genuine question - is it the look you don't like? Personally, I like the idea, but I can see that it might get anxiety inducing to have a counter.

Thanks for checking and appreciate the help dude.
Do you have 18.1 beta installed? I think it was added with beta 6. No idea how to turn it of thou.
I do 🙂

And there's the reason why this is happening. Thanks Dylan. I don't mind it, but it does look a little odd as it's not in keeping with the stylish aesthetics of the OS. Plain black and very small too.
