lockscreen notifications too dark to read?

I'm not sure if this is as intended but the notifications on my lockscreen are very dark, it's like they are greye out and are barely readable. It's not my brightness setting, as the time/date is nice and bright. Anyone else?

Oh wow I didn't realize that. I had that wallpaper in my gallery as I played around with that when I first got the phone. Just recently I put it as my lockscreen and thought it was just a black background, completely forgetting it was that 1x1 wallpaper. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

Looks like iOS 10.2 might be addressing that in some way as well.
