I feel like an ass but I think I noticed something today that I've never noticed before.

I have a bright sunny wallpaper set today and I noticed that when i unlock my phone the "brightness" of the wallpaper/screen dim's a little when it switches from lock ---> homescreen. Why does :apple: do this? I've always used darker wallpapers and I guess thats why i never noticed.

Any way to change this? Bypass it?

you probably have your brightness setting set to 'AUTO-Brightness'

Yep, auto-brightness in a dark room you will notice a big decrease in brightness from lockscreen to homescreen. I'm sure brightness does not affect lockscreen.
