log and capture window in HDV

Hi, I am trying to log and capture HDV video from a JVC GY-HD100u camera. If I use the HDV setting in the "Capture Presets" the video does not come through the Log and Capture window. When I use the "Apple intermediate codec" the it only allows me to do a capture now and will not allow me to log footage. It seems like it is something silly....isn't it always?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

PCI Graphics Card?

If your computer has a PCI graphics card installed and you are using both Final Cut Pro 5 and HDV, then the log and capture window is disabled.

What are your computer specs, what version of FCP are you using and specifically which Easy Setup(s) did you try and use?
