I noticed my disk space had been dropping slowly for the past few days, and I hadn't restarted for 11 days, so I restarted and 8GB were freed up. I assume this must be from log files inflating much larger than they should, but I'm not sure why this would be or how to fix it. Any ideas?

Open Console (in Utilities) and look for repeated messages/warnings.

About half the errors in the Console are these two:

    Code:
    11/1/10 6:52:42 PM	com.apple.Dock.agent[54234]	Mon Nov 1 18:52:42 James-Simpsons-MBP-4.local Dock[54234] <Error>: kCGErrorIllegalArgument: CGSSetWindowTransformsAtPlacement: Failed

    11/1/10 6:52:42 PM	com.apple.Dock.agent[54234]	Mon Nov 1 18:52:42 James-Simpsons-MBP-4.local Dock[54234] <Error>: kCGErrorIllegalArgument: CGSSetWindowTransformAtPlacement: Failed
This Chrome error takes up about another 40% of the error messages:

    Code:
11/1/10 12:51:00 AM	[0x0-0xa40a4].com.google.Chrome[1156]	objc[52199]: Class WorkerPoolObjC is implemented in both /Applications/Google Chrome.app/Contents/Versions/8.0.552.5/Google Chrome Helper.app/Contents/MacOS/../../../Google Chrome Framework.framework/Google Chrome Framework and /Applications/Google Chrome.app/Contents/Versions/8.0.552.5/Google Chrome Framework.framework/Internet Plug-Ins/PDF.plugin/Contents/MacOS/PDF. One of the two will be used. Which one is undefined.
