Log-in Screen after Boot-up

I am having an issue with logging in to my Pro.

I have 3 different accounts set up and for some time now I can not use the pointer to choose which account I want to log in with. I press the pad to select the account but nothing happens. I have to use the up/down arrow key to select the account and then hit enter/return to get the pop up for the password.

Someone was using my Pro and I have no idea what they did to make it this way.

Ok, so your problem is 'you cant use your trackpad nor mouse to select the accounts'.
That shouldn't be happening, but if it does even now, then I suggest you to either backup, delete the account, then recreate (this is stupid btw, but give it a try), or if you have external HDD, then backup, and use your disc (Snow Leopard or gray disc that came with the computer) to restore from the latest backup after formatting the drive.

If you hook up a mouse, can you do it that way?

Are you incurring any other issues with the track pad?
