Resolved Log out of iCloud tracking? Unknown MacBook located

Edit: turns out that iCloud tracking is stored separately from the system disk in some onboard NVRAM. Fancy eh.

It seems that the solution is to go to iCloud preferences and turning off Find My Mac to clear the old entry.
