Just was wondering. Ages ago I remember that setting Computer & Display Sleep to Never and unchecking all the boxes (HD's to sleep etc), that that's sort of the equivalent of putting the machine in 'high performance' mode. Obviously useful when using DAW.
Obviously you wouldn't necessarily want 'put HD's to sleep' checked when working with a DAW regardless of course, that's a given. But is the Computer & Display Sleep Never business an actual CPU performance booster?
Is this true? Or was that something from way back when and is meaningless now?
TIA
