Logic Express 9 Problems: Please help.

Greetings. I have been a user of garageband for 2 years and have recently upgraded to Logic 9 express. While the program has some obvious advantages, it seems to have a problem that no music program should EVER have. My problem is controlling the volume levels of a single instrument without having it glitch or conflict with whatever it seems it "wants" to do. I'm new to this program and I've only been using the hyper editor for my volume changes, but I find Logic Express 9 unusable if I say, set the volume on a whole note at 4 db, then while it's holding the note, it will shift to 6 db and then back to 4 db and continue this unpleasant cycle until the note ends. Even after that's done, it might gradually decrease from 4 to 0 without receiving any instruction to do so. Is there any way to get rid of this glitch, or even better, another way to edit volume?

You must be working with MIDI regions right?

You can adjust the volume for a track in the Mixer.
You can adjust the velocity for individual or multiple notes in:
- Piano Roll
- Score
- Hyper Editor
- Event Editor
- Hyper Draw

The leap from GB to Logic is quite large. I suggest you look at some tutorials or books to help you get over the learning curve.
