I know it doesn't technically require a Macbook pro, but Ive heard in order to run it perfect you need a Macbook pro? Please share thoughts!

Anyone here use Logic Pro or Pro Tools? Which do you reccomend?

Is a Blackbook 2.2, 4 gig ram good enough for heavy audio recording for the next 3 years atleast?

Not actually tried it, but technically Logic Pro 8 should run fine on your Blackbook. Am running it on my MBP in my sig - which has a slightly faster processor than yours, but less RAM.

However, the advantage of a MBP over a MB is the extra FW800 port and the Express Card port (allowing eSATA). You may find these handy to connect a fast external hard drive to use as a scratch disk, since your FW400 port is likely to be used by your audio interface.

MBP has a bigger screen too of course. Real estate is important when using Logic.

Not tried Pro Tools, but I do love Logic. Very steep learning curve though... you need to be patient.
