Logic Pro Updated With Step Reflex Sound Pack, Apple's Other Creator Apps Get Bug Fixes

Apple today updated several apps designed for creators, including Logic Pro, Compressor, MainStage, Motion, Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Camera, Numbers, Keynote, and Pages. Apple has pushed updates for the iOS, iPadOS and macOS versions of the apps where applicable.

Logic Pro includes a Step Reflex: Modern Garage Pack, featuring two-step beats, deep basslines, synths, and more. The update also includes an option to export a shareable file to preview how a spatial audio mix will sound when streamed on Apple Music.

Compressor, Motion, Final Cut Camera, Final Cut Pro, MainStage, Numbers, Keynote, and Pages have no new features, and the release notes only mention stability improvements and bug fixes.

Apple's apps are included as part of the Creator Studio subscription that's priced at $12.99 per month or $129 per year, but apps like Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro can also be purchased standalone. Numbers, Pages, and other apps are free to use, but some features are limited to those who subscribe to Creator Studio.

Especially as usage must be really low.
This used to aspire to become the Apple version of MS Office. But history went the other way.

It’s also strange that people using iWorks and the more creative apps are not necessarily the same people. At all. So why bother with one subscription?

Yep, not worth the goofy, non-maintained Apple nanny designs. Switched to LibreOffice and have not looked back.

I was working in Logic Pro yesterday when I noticed the update deleted sounds I usually use in the Orchestra section, along with all the Legacy sounds that used to be there. Curiously, Logic tells me they're all still installed. They just don't appear anywhere, and Apple's suggested way to get them back doesn't work.

Remind me again - who is forcing you to pay for or use the subscription version? Apple supports both and the free and Studio version, so why are you complaining?

Numbers and Pages, non subscriber, both say (replace 'spreadsheets' by 'documents' for the Pages wording):

Technically, yes, new features. But the liquid glass line sounds like puff with little or no substance. And I'm not a significant user of shapes - editable or otherwise.

On top of that, Pages initially failed to display Table of Contents (at left) - just blank.

"This update includes stability improvements and bug fixes" is what's shown as new to FCP 12.2, Motion 6.2, and Compressor 5.2.

The "Also Recently Added" refers to the features that were recently added in the previous release and can be seen by looking at the Version History.

I'm really annoyed by the Buttons for the "premium" features in iWork now, as I have no need for those. Does anyone know of a way to get rid of them?

Glad Logic Pro is getting lots of new sound packs whereas GarageBand for Mac hasn't been updated in months and gets no new sound packs.

They once again screwed up an update. Final Cut Pro throws this crash at me every time I launch it. When I close the crash report, it immediately pops up again. This happens roughly 30 times in a row before it finally stops. At least Final Cut does work then. Is it too much for them to test their vibe coded AI slop software? 🙄

That option just appeared for me today. I'll give it a shot.
