Logic stopped creating overviews

Hi y'all
Without any really obvious reason, Logic 9 has stopped creating overviews for AIFFs.
Each time I record, I have to manually refresh the overview in the editor's menu, then it builds the waveform.
Any idea what might have happened?
did I press a button?
