Sorry - not sure if Im posting in the right area but I improperly shut down my mac and when I went to log back in my username the log in screen flashes and then just resets. It won't let me log into my username but all the other usernames are fine.

I've already tried safe mode, disk repair, repair permissions, changing the password via terminal, and i did a reinstall of the operating system and it still won't work.

I know there was a fix years back for lion or snow leopard but when i try and delete the files in single user mode that they specified it says that they don't exist. It was something about cleaning the launch services caches

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

Have you tried resetting Home Folder permissions and ACL's(Access Control Lists) for your user account from OS X Recovery?
