I replaced my Magic Keyboard with a Logitech K780 Multi-Device keyboard which works fine except when I restart my Mac it doesn't recognise the keyboard until I type in my password - catch 22. I can type my password on the Magic keyboard if I reconnect it via cable. There must be something I'm doing wrong as these keyboards are quite popular and I can't find anyone else with a similar problem.

Just realised, my MX Master 2S also doesn't work until I've typed in my password. This can't be right?

How is the keyboard connected ...?

If the keyboard is wireless with both a Logitech "unifying receiver" and bluetooth, are you using bluetooth?
If so, have you tried the unifying receiver instead?

I’m using the little receiver thing in an old Windows machine so it has to be Bluetooth. I think I’ll send it back and buy a small, cheap keyboard for Windows and get a new wired mechanical one for the Mac since I spend most of my time bashing on that one. Any recommendations? I’m leaning towards a Das Keyboard pro.
