Needed some cameras in and around the house and since the HomeKit options are ridiculously limited and despite some of the reported issues concerning HomeKit, I went with the Circle 2. I have three so far bought on a sale price at Best Buy ($107/ea). So far I mounted one inside my (unfinished) garage facing my garage doors as a test run before I bust out the ladder and start poking holes around my house.

Some issues I’m experiencing and curious if others are too. Don’t know if these are hardware issues or what. I am on firmware version 5.6.49. Good WiFi signal there but not necessarily a fast signal.

1. The mount that comes in the box is not very sturdy. When I snap the camera in, there is a distinct wobble, rocking if I touch it. Doesn’t seem like it would be a good option if mounted outside in the elements.

2. Crackling/static noise in the audio. I can hear ambient audio just fine but this static noise is annoying and it’s there persistently. Kind of sound like a sprinkler system.

3. Speaker too low. When my wife and kids pull in, I try speaking with the mic button on my phone but my wife says she can only hear me when the garage doors are closed. I live in a quiet suburb.

4. When I playback an event, the night light led seems to go off and on every 5-10 seconds during the event.

5. Get “person likely detected” notification for a fly buzzing in front of the camera.

I’ve got just the one of these on the latest firmware. The audio/mic hissing and noise issue is well known and that’s how it is...ie it’s utter crap.

I don’t have any other issues though, but mine is in the house screwed to a wall unit.

Edit: and yep, the speaker is very quiet

Thanks for the reply. How is your camera when attached to the wall mount? My wall mount disc is in the wall nice and firmly but the point where the camera attaches to the mount, not so much.

Seems ok to me, certainly nothing out of the ordinary.
