Not sure how a camera would help with a fire.

But you bring up a really good point about insurance: Pay the money for that, and you don't need to worry. Just get on with your life, knowing everything will be made good should the worst happen.

Are you suggesting the camera could replace insurance and save money on premiums?

I think he is saying that the camera provide video evidence on what happened. I.e. the fire started in the neighbor's house instead of his house.

Yep, often poor quality for high prices. I have a large collecton of useless or broken Logitech stuff and try to avoid them.
Really? I have opposite experience. My mouses (Anywhere MX, m555b, etc) still working just fine years after I bought them.

Their software, on the other hand... eh....

Mouses might be the only thing they know how to build.
My list of failed devices include headsets (those with mics for video conferencing, completely useless crap), keyboards and webcams. Still have a harmony remote somewhere which has the worst software I've ever seen. Not to mention several audio players (also known as Squeezebox) that are no longer being supported.

Harmony... Oh God. The software of that thing ... <shudder>...
