After reading a fair bit of stuff on the net around how succesful these devices are, I purchased one for my G5 PowerPC which I am setting up as a HTPC and media centre.

It doesn't work very well. Although it pairs fine and works in either mode, it only does so when I'm less than 1m from the Mac (which renders the wireless a bit pointless really) and it doesn't work great, especially as a keyboard.

Can anyone perhaps suggest anything? I know that these devices aren't 'certified' to work with Mac, but given how successful everyone else seems to be finding them, I wonder whether it's a bluetooth issue. If it's interference I can't think what; I do have a 802.11g wireless network but nothing in the same room as the G5 uses it, and the nearest AP upstairs and at the other side of the house (a laptop will connect to it from the same room as the G5 but only gets a low signal strength).

Any thoughts? Might my PPC G5 need some kind of bluetooth antenna?
