Anyone heard if/when Logitech will be coming out with new keyboards and covers for the new iPads? I had a CREATE keyboard/case for the 9.7” Pro and it was the bee’s knees. I’d like something similar for my new 12.9” beast.

The create tended to scratch iPad screens. Huge disappointment to me.
The successor product called the slim combo just fell apart in my daily use at home after half a year. I think I’m done unless they start making anything remotely close to a quality product.

Interesting. Didn’t have that issue with the CREATE and my 9.7”. And, agreed on the Slim Combo that came out for the 10.5” and 2nd Gen 12.9” - it look way flimsy and I was afraid the keyboard section would be easy to disconnect inadvertently.

That all said, I’m really liking the new Smart Keyboard Folio for the new 12.9” - just wish there was a row of additional function keys like the Logitechs.

I had the Logi Slim Combo for the 10.5amd can’t wait for the 11”

At present they’re probably figuring out new designs due to the smart connector being moved place by Apple

This isn’t a case but I picked up the Logitech K780 Bluetooth Keyboard over the weekend for $40. It was on sale at Best Buy. Was looking for a dedicated desktop keyboard while at home for the new 12.9”. So far its been pretty nice. Hopefully it holds up over time. I may go back and purchase the extended warranty. It’s main use will be at the kitchen table or on my lap desk in bed. It’s multi device so that is huge plus for the household.

I still can't wrap my head around the move to the new location. It's fundamentally incompatible with any design that attaches along the long edge without coming up the back, which is a heck of a lot of things.

I used the slim combo. Too bad it isn’t so slim though...

The Slim Combo definitely adds the functionality i'm looking for but you're right, its not slim at all compared to the ASK. Hopefully Logitech puts out a more attractive option.

In fairness some of the thickness comes from the keyboard part which has much more key travel compared to other solutions like the ASK and current MacBooks. I much prefer a keyboard where I can feel the keys travel the distance.

Just wish the back case would be more solid as mine broke in a corner.

The problem with the Slim Combo, and which is my only niggle

The iPad was not fully covered and I ended up getting light scratch marks on the bezel part

I’m hoping the new design protects the 11 as much as possibl...but then again there is no bezel

I’d love to see on of those scratch test YouTube videos when someone scratches all over, I wonder how resistant the 11 sides are...

I can- Apple wanted a keyboard with another iPad angle and didn’t want a connector showing when using it. They don’t design their stuff to help accessory makers.

I think you are spot on. There have also been plenty discussions here from users with issues with the previous ASK which the new design might help get rid of.

Btw, Apple said on stage that they worked with Logitech on the first Create case, back in 2015.

Okay, that makes sense but it completely wrecks my use case because there is no alternative that I'm aware of for what I do right now.

I agree. I like the new keyboard better than the previous but I’d really like something with more adjustment in the angle.

I never used the previous ASK, but for me, the new ASK only has one usable position. The notch closest the keyboard is okay for using at a desk, but the notch further back that tilts the iPad more upright is completely unusable for any situation in which I’d be typing. I’m not all that tall - 5’7” - and I have to slouch pretty severely to see the screen in that position. There’s no position that’s good for using it on my lap.

i actually prefer the farthest to the back for most cases. I only use the notch closest to the keyboard when it is on my lap.

Do you have the 11” or the 12.9”? I have the 11” and from watching videos of people with the 12.9”, it looks like the extra width makes a difference and the 12.9 has more tilt in both positions.

That's a great price for that keyboard! We've got one for my wife's desk (I use it with my iPad sometimes) and it has held up very well. It doesn't have the travel/feel of my Apple bluetooth keyboard but I really like it and the fast switching is great if you've got a couple devices (computer, iPad, Apple TV, etc.)

Can't wait for the Logitech Smart Keyboard for iPad Pro 2018...or I will end up buying the Apple one.
