Logitech MX 5000 Desktop, using the mouse?

I wondering if I use the bluetooth version of the MX 1000 mouse included in the MX 5000 desktop, with a Macbook Pro?

I'd like to use all of the buttons and such, as well as not use the dongle that comes with the set. As I don't want to waste a USB port.
