I have recently purchased a logitech MX master mouse and logitech craft keyboard. Both of them works fine most of the time, but I have random lag on the keyboard and mose from time to time. I had no problems with this when I used my old Apple Magic Mouse and Apple Magic Keyboard. The Mac in question is a MBP 15-inch 2019.

Sometimes the scroll function on the mice stops working, until it suddenly starts catching up and start to scroll like crazy. The keyboard has a similar issue with the dial.

I also have the problem that the keyboard at random fails to connect and have to be re-paired to my Mac. The problem doesn't happen at all on my Windows-computers using the unifying reciver. The problems is most prominent when i am participating in a MS Teams videomeeting.

I have seen on the web that this might be caused by Wi-Fi interference, which is also backed by the fact it gets worse while in video-meeting (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201542, https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360023424833). My Wi-Fi access point (Unifi AC-Pro) is set to broadcast at maximum strength and is located in the same room as my Mac. The bluetooth mice and keyboard are places right next to the Mac. The AP is in the controller configured according to Apples recommendations on https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202068. Most of my devices use 5 GHz, except for my printer which do not support it. My Mac is connected to Internett via Ethernet cable and 5GHz Wi-Fi with channel width of 80MHz.

So my questions are:
  • Have any one experienced similar issues? And if so what helped fixing it?
  • Could it be something else other than interference?
  • Is there a Bluetooth troubleshooting tool similar to the Wi-Fi troubleshooting tool in macOS?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

I've had the same issue for a month or so now. I can't remember which 10.x version it started with, but I have a MX Anywhere 2S that was connected via bluetooth. I also have an older K520 keyboard that is connected via the Unify receiver that came with MX mouse. I saw the information about the WLAN so decided connect the MX to the receiver instead of bluetooth, but that has not resolved the issue...and now the keyboard is starting to do the same thing.

Based on other feedback I found I tried to update the software for both the keyboard and mouse and disabled/enabled the Logitech apps within the privacy settings without any change in behavior...in fact I feel like it's getting worse.

I'm debating on running a 75+ ft Ethernet cable to my office and disable WLAN and bluetooth to see if that helps at all.

I've seen similar behavior with an MX Master 2S for the longest time. At some point in the past, in the early days of Mojave, Apple's software developers either rewrote the Bluetooth stack or updated it for the worse, because that's when things went South. Ever since Mojave I've had major Bluetooth issues with pretty much all non-Apple devices regardless of make and model. My solution back then was simple: downgrade back to High Sierra and continue using that for as long as possible.

Unfortunately, they then backported that change/update to High Sierra as well, which means I was screwed. I could not use my JABRA headset or my Logitech mouse anymore. Fortunately, I was able to connect my headset via a USB cable and use the included Unifying Receiver dongle for my mouse. I tried again after updating to Catalina and the issues still persisted. Long story short: Apple's Bluetooth stack is messed up big time but Apple don't care as long as it works with their own devices.

Do not under any circumstances expect non-Apple devices to connect via Bluetooth and work reliably. Those days are over.

Therefore my question is: DID ANYONE EVER GET IT TO WORK?*

*not 'but'; 'if'; 'when' - Legit usage with 3 devices, seamless switching between them, no random pulses of the backlight (which whilst I wrote this post, by now interrupted my typing 12 TIMES)

Is there someone out there with: Nothing to complain about/ with a working unit of the Logitech logi Craft keyboard? If so, pls hmu

How precisely did you get the mouse to work using the unifying receiver?
(I'd love to know, just in case you care look at the other threat for info)

I just plugged the receiver into the Mac and it recognised the mouse immediately.

It should come pre-paired on the first preset - but if you want to control different devices with different receivers, then you can manually switch to a different channel by pressing the button on the bottom of the mouse.

I use channel 1 for one machine and channel 2 for the other - both running Catalina and W10 (and the device doesn't need resyncing when I switch between W10 and MacOS).

Sorry, I misread that question. If I remember correctly it was exactly like @tyc0746 said: I plugged in the pre-paired receiver that came with the mouse and it started working immediately.

I have now connected the mouse and keyboard using a unifying reciver. It seems to work much better, but we will see how it performs over time. Maybe thats the only way to fix these problems as off now?

How is it working for you? I looking into getting the logitech mx keys and mx master 3 mouse , so it would be good to know if the unifying receiver fixed the issue .

No problems so far :) The reciver works perfectly fine for me at least. I do have to use an USB-C to USB-A adapter though. Hubs won't work well at all just as the Logitech docs says. I use this adapter together with the unifying reciver.

I have both the master keys and the master 3. The keyboard can connect via bluetooth but the mouse can't. I gave up after trying everything I ran across the internet and just used the unifying receiver for both

My MX Master 2 started going crazy after years of using it. It would jump/skip a ton. Turns out my dual monitor set up had 2 different resolutions, no clue how that affected anything - but setting them at the same resolution fixed it.

Edit: It didn't fix it. I think my MX Master 2 is just broken.

It works fine for a few hours, then just jumps and skips frequently as I use it.
