like mentioned earlier in this thread, i went to the Apple store last night and picked up the MX1000 and the Apple Wireless Keyboard. I love 'em both. course the keyboard is a little different than i'm used to, but i think i made a good choice going with these two. the mouse is great!

one thing i noticed though, the drivers disk that came with the mouse was only for windows? i had to go to logitech's website to download the mac software for it. unless i missed something, thats pretty messed up, it should include the software in the packaging. other than that though, great mouse

You made the right choice.

As for the driver thing, get used to it. Mac users are discriminated against by many vendors. You're lucky there's any drivers at all. With that said, the MX1000 works in OS X natively. I didn't install the drivers, the wheel works natively, the cruise buttons (above and below the wheel) works natively. The only three buttons that don't work off the bat are the three thumb buttons, and I assigned those to the three expose functions. Loving it!

I'm thinking of getting the mx1000 over the mx900 now, even though it will be for use with a PB. Hhmmm..

I bought an MX900 off eBay and was very pleased with it....for a month. Then it stopped charging in its dock no matter what batteries I put in. On the plus side for my week of wireless mobility I loved it, and was the envy of all my wired colleagues.

It is (when working) a good mouse though, with well placed additional buttons. The only thing I'd say about it is its a touch on the heavy side, leading to dents in your desk as you move your hand back to centre.

Not sure how this compares to the 1000....

Just cause. I have an MX700 and am quite happy with it. And a wireless Logitech keyboard, woo!
