I just purchased a logitech MX Master 3 and I'm having trouble with the software

1) I don't know how it actually interacts with mac's base mouse settings, anybody know?
2) smooth scrolling is very jumpy. it always jumps backwards a bit when I finished scrolling. Anybody knows why?
3) Scrolling up is always slower than scrolling down too

I have the same setup and it is smooth and works well.

Here are my settings if you want to try and duplicate them.

I've used Logitech mice exclusively on my Macs for years now, and I DO NOT USE the Logitech driver software.

Instead, I've used either "USB Overdrive" or "SteerMouse".
Both work very well, and are much "lighter" than the Logitech software.

After using Logitech mice, I will NEVER use an Apple mouse again.
They're .... horrible !!

I'm glad I found this thread. I've got one on the way to use with my Late 2015 iMac.

I've been using an Apple trackpad for some time. I think the novelty has worn off as I've been using a MS Anywhere 2s on my iMac, after I couldn't really get it to work right with my iPad.

Just as the Apple trackpad has lost my favor, so has the Apple keyboard. I have both the Apple trackpad and keyboard docked in a Twelve South tray. It seemed so great until I've been sequestered at home during the Pandemic and really using my home equipment for hours at a time.

I'm hoping that the MX Master 3 mouse and new DAS Keyboard (I also have coming) will work well to together in a physical placement as I constantly shift between the two. Anyone using this particular combo?

Just bought a MX Master 3 and looking forward to get the most of it.
I've been using Logitech mouse since a while but not continuously, I lost the last one few years ago. Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad have replaced it and are my current setting.

I decided to give a try to the new Logitech, I'm especially curious to see in which extend it can optimise my Lightroom workflow.
From a software standpoint, I don't have a great memory of Logitech. I had often kernel panics with my previous mouse.
I very much like the precision of the Magic Trackpad and tactile surface. However it does not replace completely the efficiency of a mouse.

I can see people are suggesting different alternatives USB Overdrive, SteerMouse, or BetterTouchTool. I think I'll go immediately with a third party software.
From the 3 listed above which one do you prefer, does not cause kernel panic and what are your setting if you want to share it?

Thanks

I have the same mouse and the included Logitech drivers/app are working fine for me. No crashes at all. You might give it a try before you spend money on a third party setup.

I do understand and I'll give a try of course but I don't have a lot of esteem for it....
Any setting recommendation then with photoshop/lightroom?

Look up in post #2 and you can my settings. With those settings the mouse feels very smooth and natural.

I've done some research yesterday evening. Here are few youtube videos which might help more than one person to personalise your Logitech Options software

But no build-in support for Lightroom with the current version, but you can setup your own app ;) therefore add Lightroom with some very basic function.

Cheers,

I just bought the MX Master 3 and the Master Key keyboard. I work in IT so I'm in both Mac and Windows daily, so I wanted one keyboard / one mouse for everything. Well I the MX Keyboard has worked flawless for me so far, but the MX Master 3 just isn't cutting, I miss the swiping gesture that flows so well on the magic mouse 2, I can change from mac to windows with a swipe of a finger. I haven't found a comfortable / natural feel for the MX Master 3 to do the same. If anyone has a suggestions to make the flow seamless, I 'd love to hear from you.
