It is complex

Have any of you that think this is a joke tried turning on 30 BT keyboards in the same room and connecting to the one in your hand? They all show up in your bluetooth with the same name, good luck picking the right one. That's the part that is complex not actually connecting the ipad.

I hope they've done their research. We're a 1:1 iPad school and in our research talking with other 1:1 schools, those that bought physical keyboards for the student iPads found that the kids didn't want them. It defeated the portability of the device. And watching the kids use the iPads every day, the vast majority of them are fine on the virtual iPad keyboard. Out of over 400 iPads, we've had 6 students ask for a keyboard.

Those of us of a certain age grew up learning to type on typewriters, the home row keys etc... This generation didn't. They taught themselves to type on their smart phones or laptops, and it works for them.

One of the district we worked with bought a keyboard for each iPad, and within 2 weeks all but 5 had been returned. That appears to be the trend nationwide.

also, IMHO $60 is waaay too high for most districts...

Of course, not all schools/districts are seeing this, but most are.
