Hi forum,

in the near future my iMac 27" will be joined by both a MBP 13" and a MB 13" - we are several users in the house, going to eventually logon to all three machines.

Now, I do not have a server, but is there some way that the users can get the same favorites, personal files - their own and identical homefolder - disregarded where they logon?

Is there maybe a 3rd-party tool for this?

The network also consists of a Time Capsule 1TB and a NAS.

Unlike in company networks, the number of users is static. The MB's should of course also work when not on the home network (but with no sync).

I was thinking that some kind of script that would copy/sync the homefolder upon logon and logoff could do it. ...But is there a better way?

Thanks for comments!

Thanks guys - I am also looking into DropBox right now.

Espacially a feature like this sounds interesting. This feature might sync the desktop as well...

Agree - for my purpose?

So far this works fine for me, for Safari and GSAK (Windows geocaching tool'). For iWeb and mail I have used the ln -s command connecting to the NAS....
