Beards are never really in fashion, unless you live in a cave.

Personal opinion, they seem to be "in fashion" where I live. FWIW, I have one and I don't care if they're in fashion or note. By the way I don't live in a cave

No, iPhones and beards are not a "thing."

Beards are a thing, but usually the type of man that goes for that angle is not the guy who would get an iPhone but rather an Android if anything.

Beards are like an anti-establishment/insecure type thing along the lines of tattoos. The guys are making a statement about existential pain and that deep rooted need inside to want to feel alive, but for those of us that are usually too shy to be deliberate about wanting attention.

iPhone is a about straightforward boldness. Clean shaven, you got the other cliche fashion of today which is the SS haircut.

Android is about anti-establishment so the beards would go for that if any such pattern were significant. (which it isn't.)

Now this is not to be confused with the "Ironic Hipster Beard" which is a totally different thing and, yes, would be iPhone side, but these are a lot more rare. :) I think thats what OP mistook this pattern for.

I've had a beard since I could grow one....no existential reason or anything. I just like the way it looks - and I have a bit of a baby face so it helps me look my age.

Doesn't hurt that the wife digs it (and digged it before she was my wife).

I have an iPhone, a Nexus 5 and a Lumia 635. Does that muck up your statistics?

Not in L.A. Goatee, yes, but a ratted beard, not. :D I'm speaking as a trend, no one walks around with a beard. This is L.A. We are in our own Oblivion sort of speak.

I'm in LA, so all I can say is you must not get around much if you haven't seen beards. (Who has a goatee??) People who don't even look good with beards are giving it a shot.

Since iPhone saturation is as high as it is anyway, you could make that statement about almost any segment of society.

People with dogs usually have an iPhone.
People with high IQ's usually have an iPhone.
People with low IQ's (sadly true now) usually have an iPhone.

It's the most popular mobile phone in the history of the planet Earth. It's safe to make any number of assumptions solely because of that.

I long for the days when it was cool/unusual to own one. I used to really enjoy explaining to people how great it was, and probably sold my fair share (as I'm sure many of us here did) back in the days of the 2G. Now even old lady paralegals in my office use them. It's great for Apple and all, but the wow factor is completly gone =)...

Admittedly I own an iphone and I have a beard.. Well a pretty poor excuse for a beard anyway! Only till recently tho I decided to make some form of attempt but it seriously looks like a 15 year olds beard! Lol

Anyway I know plenty of people clean shaven with an iphone and generally see lots of ppl with an iphone and no beard, thankfully women I see don't have a beard! Haha

Same. I've had a beard for years, and I couldn't care less if they are in fashion or not. I also happen to own an iPhone and I'm a guy.

Some people have beards, while others don't. Has been true for ages, although the ratios change through time, and even more so in the last century or so since it became much easier to have personal razors and hygiene and grooming became more of a norm (if not a requirement essentially).

Some people have iPhones, others have other phones, some of them have beards, and some of them don't. One doesn't really relate to the other much.

Why would you keep the litter box in the kitchen? You make food there!
I agree. i just heard that on bill maher once and found it funny.
i keep a litter box in the bathroom and another one in an enclosure in a living room.

Beard is in style, that's all. This is evident by a number of male employees sporting a beard at my local Apple store.
Could the opposite then also be true if it's evident by the number of people with no beards (or perhaps even any facial hair whatsoever) at another store or place of business?

You probably never seen someone with an iPhone and thought "Wow, that person doesn't have a beard!" yet they're everywhere.

Silent evidence is all around us, but we don't create stories of what's missing, only what's there.
