Kind of ironic, isn't it? A forum member that consumes time on threads like this one, being amazed on what others do with their own time...!!

On the topic.....

We have not heard about these guys who went Q-ing up few weeks before, in US? Did they give up or something?

They lost their place when they went to the restroom. Then, they gave up.

If I went shopping there, those hipster-hobos would annoy me. I wonder why the operator of this mall allows them to bum around like that with all the chairs and stuff.

I think because it's a one time event, not the every day occurrence. Plus, each one is about to drop about $1000 (US) there, so one of their tenants may appreciate their presence.

Plus, the food court may not mind, either.

This is the queue at 4pm in Apple Store in Carindale Centre, Queensland. It has gotten much longer after 5.

Are you for real ? I maybe spend 5-10 minutes on this every 2-3 days. Like reading a paper :)

I would never stand i line for days, for something I'll get anyway :)

Hmm, I don't know man. Your comment was first posted an hour ago, you are still active in the form. Besides, 10 evry 2 or 3 days = almost 24 hours a year.
My point is, it's their time. When you think of it, most of us waste quite a lot of time doing things that others would find it time-wasting. Who cares!!

For your information I have only gone to the Q for iPhone 4S in the morning and for only 20 minutes because quickly it became apparent that I was late and it was sold out.

Just got my tracking number! :)

It's not fair that Australians get their iPhones 15-18 hours before we do here in the US. We should move the international date line. :D

Only 2 people are in line? I guess it isn't selling well. /jk :D

:eek:It's not selling at all*!!!

;)

*for those of you that serious, think about it for a few... ;)

excitement and fun you get from cueing with everyone else

I reserved mine to pick up at 11am tomorrow George St. Sydney Apple Store, I'll wonder down on my lunchbreak and be out by 12. You still get the Apple experience but also a good nights sleep.

It's great to see so many people lining up to be part of the iPhone 6 launch day experience.

It's sad that you think the launch of a consumer product that will be forgotten about in a year is an "experience". These people need real experiences.......

People can do what they want with their free time. Personally I'd NEVER EVER do something like this. Much better things to do in life. :)

PS - will buy my space gray iPhone 6 64GB when it's freely available AND hopefully most of the main apps are already updated to take full advantage of the new screen. Meanwhile will somehow manage with my "old" 5s. :D

Wonder if Samsung put some wall hugger stickers around power outlets in those malls .My iPhone 5 wouldn't last waiting in line for such an amount of time

I don't get why people don't preorder.

I think its about getting one at the counter and then walk out with your iPhone 6 raised up high having all the other people still waiting see you and clap while TV channels film or even might interview you...

Makes somewhat sense

I imagine most of them are resellers/scalpers.

I think resellers would simply preorder the phone. Lining up is more about the experience, especially as they probably restrict the number of devices you can pick up.

I don't get it. Not judging at all, but I can't wait in line that long. No way.

I've done a couple hours when there was no preorder, but any more than that, I can't

Looks like Chinese resellers.

Had about 30 Chinese push in before me, from number 110 to about 140 now.. Bragging about buying two and selling the other for double the price on ebay.. Not fair really.. They all have grouped together in 2's and 3's on specially laid out seats, but none of them seem to really know each other.. Oddest thing I've seen.. There is approx 4-5 'Aussies' amongst 250 others..
