Lately, I've been noticing my MacBook Pro takes longer than usual to boot.
It goes like this:

1. Startup Chime! Grey Screen
2. Sits for a while at the grey screen...
3. Apple Logo comes up
4. Spinning icon (quick)
5. Boot is complete

Its when it sits at the grey screen before the apple logo that takes forever (20 secs), after that its like a normal boot.

Suggestions?

Do you have Windows installed through Boot Camp? In OS X, check the Startup Disk option in System Preferences. For some, it seems to make a difference if you actually select the Mac OS X if it isn't selected already.
