Over there------->
This is a question for those of you who have owned an iPad (of any generation) for at least six months. In other words, for people who are well past the novelty period and have settled down into a regular pattern of usage.

It seems that a lot of people I know ultimately decided that their phone or laptop (or both) were more convenient for certain tasks, and they find themselves using the iPad less frequently than these other devices. None of them say they regret the purchase, and they do still use their iPads, but not as much as they thought they would.

How has it worked out for you after having an iPad for at least six months?

Everyday.
Over the period of a year I find my MacBook Air getting less use.

Every day. Several times a day. I'd use it more, but I have a job :)

I don't use it as much as I used to, but I use it regularly. I have no regrets about my purchase, though if I were buying a new one I wouldn't go top of the range again. However the iPad has become indespensible for me.

Bought the original iPad on launch date. Purchased iPad 2 and latest generation on launch day as well. Use it constantly throughout the day and, if anything, my usage has increased over time.

My MBA pretty much stays connected to the Thunderbolt display. Most of the portable stuff I can do from the iPad. Some complain about typing on the iPad but I have never had any trouble with it.

Owned the original 2 weeks after it came out.

Been using an iPad (got the 3 on launch day) multiple times a day ever since, less on vacations and weekends outdoors.

Dying to hear from those who answered "constantly". Pretty sure you're not.

I purchased the original on launch and sold it recently to buy the iPad 3. I use it everyday. Basically, I rarely touch the family MacBook...just to do maintenance and store photos.

I use mine a couple of times a week for email/ reading the NYT app on the couch. I've had all three generations and I've used them all the way. It's nice to have for trips; better than hauling around and worrying about a laptop.

I use an iPad as my mobile computer. During the school year I used it everyday for taking and reading notes. Now that summer vacation is here I enjoy the outdoor. I'll use my iPad when I'm in bed or in my living room.

I could call it my brother.

I use it at work and home. During vacation we use it for booking hotels and plan routes with gps assistant.

I'm wearing mine out. I do a lot of web surfing and note taking. I'm always on this thing. The only time I'm away is when I'm sleeping or at work.

Until the battery dies. Oh wait, the battery never dies. So I use it pretty much all the time.

My MacBook Pro is getting very dusty in the corner.

All the time.

I bought a HP laptop back in October last year. I used it less than 10 times from October to March of this year. Only reason I bought it was because it was aluminum, $400 (old model, on sale) and it would be good for creating excel sheets, and when I could not use the iPad for specific tasks (like flash sites, or ordering online at some sites). One day, it froze on the first black boot screen. Always froze. Could not hit F2 to get into boot options - nothing.

Either way, never really needed a laptop until I moved to a new apartment where my current internet is through a 4G USB card.

iPad is an amazing device.

USAToday app every morning with coffee (and Bailey's), Notepad app every day at work, Virtual Pool HD and Orbital apps several times a week, and several times a day for other stuff, internet, etc. I'd use it more but I do most internet at work (mostly FOR work) and I still have a new MBA and an old Mini (I use the iPad for about 85% of what I do on OS X/iOS, however).
