I have an original iPad 1 purchased on day 1. In fact, it was the second iPad sold at my local Apple Store. My iPad is still my constant companion. Basically where I go, it goes and I use it constantly throughout the day. So far I have not seen a reason to upgrade. Basically it meets my needs fine and sure at times it seems a little slow, but not enough to cause me to go out and spend the money on a 3. Having said that, if Apple releases a 7.85" iPad, I will be first in line at my local Apple Store to buy one. I really would like to have a slightly smaller device that is similar in size to my wife's Nook Color but a good bit bigger than my iPhone.

I use it every single day, multiple times a day.:apple::apple:

This. Completely took over my web browsing/email time from the MBP. Pretty much the only time spent on MBP is for things I can't do (or do as easily/efficiently) on iPad like Office documents, Mac processing programs, work tasks, etc. I use the iPad for at least 80% of my computer time.

Well, this thread gave me the final push that I needed. I bought my first iPad yesterday evening. So in six months, I'll be able to respond to my own poll! :D

Even on the days I swear that I'm going to put it down for awhile and do something else, I still never put it down. I use it for everything.

I've been using an iPad for over a year now, and if anything my usage has increased: It's on all the time next to me - I use to watch TV, listen to the radio, watch videos, play music etc whilst I'm working (I work from home most of the time). If I go to customer site, I use it to take notes and I will often take just my iPad with me

All the time. Check emails and Twitter first thing in the morning, watch movies on Netflix, read on iBooks & Amazon, shop on Amazon, check latest YouTube videos, play some tower defense game (loving Kingdom Rush), check banking & stocks, and read the news. Pretty much my daily routine. :)

All the time

I am constantly using my iPad both at home and at work. At home I rarely ever touch my MBA now. When I go on trips I only take my iPad and use that to work from. I plan on getting a new Mac Pro once they are released since I do not feel I need a laptop anymore. The iPad has completely replaced that for me.

I used my first generation iPad everday and continue to use my 3rd generation ipad daily, but use it mostly at home. I use my iPhone when I am on the go and at work. I find it much easier to grab my iPad to check e-mail, surf the web, read news, pay bills, play games etc. then use my MacBook. I still use my MacBook, but not daily at this point. I am really beginning to see a time when a conventional computer will not be neccessary for most people.

I don't use it every single day, but I use it throughout the week for web browsing, IM and Twitter. Other times, depending on my mood I use my computer or phone.

In my world, the iPad isn't a novelty. It's a necessity. At my office and at home. It helps me be more productive, informed, entertained, organized, and appreciative.

Every once in a while I just hold it, look at it, and shake my head in amazement that something so beautifully designed has made such a dent in my own little universe.

Useful, but still use my MBA

I bought the original Ipad on launch day and still have it. Also have another original Ipad 3G that I ordered on launch day for it. The latter is the one I use most, almost daily, with the other one as backup, for reading books, etc. I still need my MBA and use it daily. I create lots of presentations, work up complex projects with Tinderbox, and work with spreadsheets quite a bit. I can't do these things on the Ipad.

I do use the Ipad a lot though: reading email, PDFs, jotting down quick notes, and surfing the net. I have unlimited data on AT&T. When will I buy a newer one? Maybe when they have a computer like file system access. That would be a big help.

While I am wedded to my MBA, I have often traveled with only the Ipad on trips where I did not have to do work requiring the computer. It is very easy to lug the Ipad, but the 11" computer is not that much bigger and does so much more.

I've had all three gen iPads and Ive used all of them daily primarily for web browsing. I'd rather web browse on the iPad than a pc or laptop. I also blow countless hours playing games on it. I watch tv shows and videos on it as well. When I am home, I am using it.

My iPad sleeps with me.

For a news gathering device it is unparalleled. 20 minutes with my iPad and my Instapaper and Evernote get stocked up like shelves in the pantry.

I used it at least a couple of times per week when I was at school. Now that I'm off for the summer, I've hardly picked it up since classes ended. Ultimately, though, I don't regret purchasing it.

I use it mostly every day still but mostly just for bed/couch/toilet surfing, reading ebooks and when I'm on trips. My laptop and smartphone see more use now.

For accuracy. There's an app for that.

I can't imagine how this app would work.... ... maybe your peepee stick has a gyroscope & accelerator in it and you use the iPad via an app for directional control and forward and back for power control...

... should have stopped at confused...I think i imagined too much :( ..... back to work...
