"Longhorn" - Now I know why they call it that!

I'm a pc person but have always dreamed of getting a mac.
Maybe when this Longhorn comes true and it keeps me from doing what I want, maybe I'll get a powermac something.

On another note, is that sweat on Ballmer's shirt on the Developers, Developers, Developers! mpen?

But is it worth it? I mean, what is iChat? It can't work with ICQ accounts etc.?

Because I don't want to sign on .mac or register an aim account. (But I would like to have an easy-to-use Apple prog of that type) I would expect more flexibility from Apple programs. Why not add ICQ support? Or even MSN messenger...

XP is the best sellig MS OS ever! It was a sucsess for MS!

If people dont upgrade it's just because their happy with what they got or they haven't got the HW for it.

XP is by no doubth the best MS OS ever!

Heh, yeah I guess you do have an internet connection, don't you? Anyway, iChat only allows you to connect to the AOL/AIM instant messaging network (so basically it is only for AOL, AIM, and .mac screen names). For an ICQ or MSN screen name or whatever, you'd need another program. You could take a look at Fire or Proteus. Both of these apps have built-in support for a large number of different IMing services. I prefer Fire, but I don't use either one anymore, since I only go on AIM nowadays.

Ahem, best selling OS off the shelf. That's completely different form installed user base. So of the few million they've sold (example) there's hundred millions more that don't run XP. That's no rumor.

Actually, if you were to look at the sales from the install base direction, I believe OS X Jaguar (10.2) is the best seller so far.

Sure - you are correct with absolute sales, but this, as we say, is only half the story.

First of all FireWire is not sort of an Apple innovation... it is an Apple innovation...
Secondly, F/reW/re never applauded XP, he just said it's the best MS OS ever, and there's no wrong in that... isn't OS X the best Apple OS ever?

honestly, i couldnt say if osx is the best os in the world. but its the one i prefer.:rolleyes:


and i never said he WAS wrong, you just implied that. i just pointed out a funny that his name reflected pro mac but his preference in an os was xp. is that ok? with you?

I watched those mpegs and I almost pissed myself, that guy is an egomaniac! So funny. I hate microsoft for all im worth but my knowledge of thier staff is small, who the heck is that guy?

If you are referring to Steve Ballmer, the "star" of those afore-mentioned mpg's, he's the CEO of Microsoft.

Bill Gates used to be CEO, but he promoted himself to Chairman, and he moved Ballmer into his place. These videos were recorded soon after the 'promotion' of Ballmer to that position, so it's a little understandable that he's hopped up. But that still doesn't explain the "Give it up for meeeeee!!!" thing!
