Well its nice to say all these idealistic notions about how not all android users will steal the app yada yada ...
But the fact of the matter is I have not met even one Android user till now who pays for there app. And i know almost all Apple users in my circle who pay for there app. The correct thing to do is to self introspect and find out how many Android users do you know who really paid for there App ?
Atleast i dont know anyone in my circle. An Average iOS user spends more money on App Store than any Android User which also is reflected on the Developer Payouts.
To add on top of it google does not pay you money if you app does not make more than $250, they only do a pay out when your app is big, if it less than $250 they confiscate your money as a developer. I really Hate google for confiscating the money of lot of small developers who are starting off. They will see a payment in many many days. Plus google has a policy of paying only after the end of the month.
This **** is really bad for indie Developers. Apples App Store is a more nicer and Fair Environment for everyone.
I am sorry but there is so much FUD in there that this is insane.
Lets start with the threshhold of $250. That is 100% false. Google does not have a real threashold on the play store. They pay you out every month.
As for the at the end of the month part. Well that is pretty SOP across the board in almost any industry. You get paid at the end of the month. You pay for your phone bill at the end of the month. Hell you do not get a paycheck at the end of everyday. You get it at most once a week but most places it tends to be about twice a month.
Now if you want to get onto the App store cost. Apple cost a heck of a lot more. For your app to be in the Apple app store you have to pay $100 per year per account. Don't pay your app goes away. Google it cost $25 life time. I paid for my personal one 3 years ago. $25 bucks and still works. I can still submit app years later as all it required is me to agree to it.
Now lets add if you want it for a company guess what the company pays $25 and can have multiple administrator accounts. We did that were I work. We have a master account that points at a shared email list address and then several of us have our google work accounts link to it and control it that way.
Sorry but your rant is just that a rant with zero understanding. Try being a real developer in the real world and get back to me.
