DO NOT GET THIS MONITOR. It has a ******* resolution, and is WAY too overpriced. If I were to get this, I would pay no more than $100. If it were $100, then it would be a good idea to get. But it isn't, so it's not.

Check the Philips 21:9 screen. 2560x1080 on 56".
Both displays are not meant for desktop use, though. The one you posted is for presentational use, the Philips screen is a TV.

But the aspect ratio would be nice for a desktop screen, too!
I don't see displays getting bigger than 30" because the hight is getting problematic.
It is perfectly fine to move your head sideways, which is why 2 or 3 30" screens are used quite often, but tilting your head is unnatural and stressful. A continuous large display with about 40", an aspect ratio of 21:9, and a resolution of about 4000x1600 would be absolutely great.

Just wondering how this is related to the Mac Pro forums... ;)

I agree the dot pitch is terrible most likely .31 , but I am asking if anyone has seen this with a good ratio /resolution.

Of course something like 2600 by 900 would be the right ratio and then dot pitch would be close to .25 and then it would be good at 1 k or so. sooo don't buy this unit.

are all about graphics this is a great size for a screen. yeah the resolution su@ks. I wondered if someone knew of a 30 inch wide screen with this ratio and great resolution. I am sure that many of us myself included would buy this if it had a dot pitch of .23 to .25 and a resolution of 2600 to 920 or so

This is more than likely an advertisement monitor. Something relatively cheap with a crap resolution to keep costs down but decent enough to put random changing content.

Not all Mac Pro users (including myself) are in the graphics industry. There are way more applications for a powerful computer and big screen than editing graphics. ;)

Anyway, there are no other professional screens with a similar aspect ratio that are meant for desktop use (high resolution and dot pitch).
Alienware has a gaming display with a similar size (27" IIRC) but again with a horrible resolution and the display is, although continuous, not made from one piece, so not made for anything but gaming.

It does say digital signage… I laughed [at myself], when I saw it said LG and the first thing I assumed was it housed an IPS panel (then it said that on the bottom).
