I'm looking to upgrade my speakers on my mac mini I'm Looking at the Logitech 540 and i was wodnering if I'm looking to go at 5.1 do i need to invest in a external soundcard or anything like that?

I believe that sound system is able to output 2-channel sound to all 5 speakers. It won't be "real" 5.1 surround sound though.. for that you either need an external soundcard or a surround system that supports mac mini's optical audio output.
thats what I'm wondering I'm looking at geting the logitech 540's and use it with a combonation my mac/ps3 360 speakers
