I'm looking for a KVM that has USB 3.1/HDMI to switch between up to 4 computers, and use EDID emulation, having USB enumeration would be a plus

I have this one in the cart

I hate relying on amazon reviews, because half of the are fake. I look at the 1 and 2 star reviews, and regardless of the maker, they seem show a lot of failures after a month or two. This one doesn't have any 1 or 2 star reviews, but I think thats more due to lack of sales, there's not a lot of reviews period, but the price is worth taking a chance on

So close

I got the one mentioned in my earlier post and hooked up my 3 computers, man what a tangle of wires.

Anyways, my work laptop worked fine, as did my desktop PC, but, and its a big but, my M4 Studio did not.

The screen would randomly turn on and off. It would remain off for about 3+ seconds then come back to life, and then turn back off. Packed up and already initiated the return process.

I just ordered this KVM, its not a EDID equipped product, but at this point, I'll try anything.
UGREEN 8K@60Hz HDMI KVM Switch 4 Computers

Gotta love Amazon, I ordered this just a few minutes ago, and delivery time is tonight - crazy

What's odd is that this KVM uses USBC-C for the PC inputs

But the included cables are USB-C on one end and USB-A on the other. I don't mind simply because my Linux desktop being AMD based does not have USB-C support so this will work out better then expected (I hope). I'll use a regular USB-C cable for my Mac and work laptop, since they both have USB-C ports

The KVM arrived last night at 10:00pm, which is unsurprising, given the delivery windows was 5:00pm to 10:00pm.

I just finished setting it up, man the cables are a mess - I need to organize it a bit better, but I have my work laptop on the left of my desk, my Studio on the right, and my Linux PC on a small desk to the right of the studio. With a little trial and error I got everything working. I had a bit of problems with my work laptop, but I think that's due to the HDMI port working itself loose.

The only disappointment is that ugreen recommends hooking it up to power for stable use. They include a USB-C/USB-A cable that is about a meter in length. Not really long enough if you want to use it with a power brick. I had a spare USB-C cable and plugged it into my studio for the time being.

So far its working as expected in all three operating systems (windows/macos/linux) No monitor blinking, no peripherals dropping or loosing connection

Edit: let me add, unlike the prior one I tried, this did come with all of the needed cables, the other model did not include HDMI cables.

A month update, the ugreen KVM working well, though I've noticed one oddity.
If I switch from my windows laptop, to my Linux desktop, the screen is black. I move the mouse, and mash the keyboard it will come back to life.

If I switch from my Mac Studio to my Linux desktop, the screen doesn't come back. If I'm lucky after moving moving the mouse, mashing the keyboard over and over, it may come back to life. Many times I need to shut the monitor off and back on.

There seems to be something weird happening when I'm active on my Mac and hit the KVM button for the Linux machine.

Not sure what's happening, not a show stopper given that the kvm largely works just a tad frustrating when I bounce between the Mac and Linux boxes.
