Looking for a Google Voice invite

Hi guys,
In preparation for [hopefully] getting an iPad once they come out I'm really keen oon getting a Google Voice account. Anybody got a spare invite hiding in a drawer they could forward on?

Just go to google's site and request one. I did it about a month ago and received an invite about a week later.

Done that but I suspect I may be in for a wait as I'm in the UK and therefore seem to wait forever to get cool things like this

That may be the case given that Google Voice is a US-based service.

Not sure location should make a difference other than why not serve your home country first - especially as one of the main 'selling' points is that it enables low cost international calls.

you can still get an invite, but you will need a proxy server to set it up (and an american land-line for the new google number)
It took a long long time to set it up frm the UK

yeah google voice doesnt work outside the US, at all, nothing, look at http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html you need a US network to be able to use any of those functions

Oh well, there you go then. I'll wait and see if anything specific comes to the UK

There are online tutorials in how to get a Free US incoming number which is all you need to forward your calls.
