    Hey everyone,

So I found a list of Mac Pro 1,1-compatible cards on this post: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1712192

And I think the GTX 660 would be a nice choice - Would this be the card to buy? I looked on eBay but am not sure which is the correct one. Are there versions that just won't work in a 2006 Mac Pro? I do understand that I need a cable for this thing.

I am looking to run Mountain Lion (maybe Yosemite) on this thing, and possibly some games on my Windows partition (GTA IV, Rigs of Rods, etc.)

I currently have a 2600XT, which was taken from a 2008 Mac Pro. I DID have a budget of $100 or under, but I found out that these things sell for a lot on eBay, so I don't mind spending more than $100 - as long as the card is good for the money. For example, the GT 5770 looks pricey for what it is...

All in all, would you all recommend this card? Can someone possibly give me an eBay link to the correct card to buy? Thanks!

And if anyone from the PowerPC side is seeing this: I said that I was taking a break from MacRumors and such, but I am just here to figure out this Mac Pro situation. I have to get this machine running Mountain Lion or later; either for my sake or for the person I may give this machine to.

Do you think the GT 120 (I believe that's the name) is a little too minimal? I'm not looking to play Battlefield or anything, or that "Crisis 3" game that everyone b**ches about, but I would like a stable card that can hold up to GTA IV in Windows, a dual-monitor set-up, and creative suites. (Preferably something that isn't too noisy, as I am scarred by how loud the 2600XT is.) How would this compare to my 2600XT? (I'd probably go with a 512MB or 1GB version, once you have them back in stock.)

I have a spare and working unflashed Leadtek GTX660 Ti Boost if you are interested. Used and works flawlessly on my Mac Pro 4.1 for a few months till I upgraded to a 7950 to boost Final Cut Pro X work. PM me if you are interested.

Sorry, I meant that pretty much any 660 will be same for you, since there is no way to flash for boot screens. I would just find a card with ports you need. I prefer EVGA and try to avoid PNY and Zotac.

Are you sure that this would work with a 1,1 Mac Pro? These 2006 and 2007 models are picky. (May need an extra cable as well.)

What is the best EVGA card you can recommend that's also not too expensive? I prefer something that's no greater than $100 in cost.
