I have a small Dell BT mouse (called a "travel mouse") and it was decent but sometimes has tracking issues, now it is demoted to backup status.

Now using a Logitech M557 and it's excellent, a basic small mouse but it has some customizability and one extra button. It had the old-fashioned click ratchet noise/feel when rotating the wheel and I removed that (removed a small spring) and that makes it really slick. Can side-scroll by pressing sideways on the wheel. It is sometimes on sale, full price is a bit high.

I have the Apple Magic Mouse too, causes hand strain pain. It's a great looking mouse that can be tolerated for about 1 hour. Demoted to my "cool stuff that I never use" collection, along with the original Apple in-ear earphones.

LOVE this mouse. Very ergonomic. Recently got it.

Pretty sure the buttons are reprogrammable but I haven't downloaded Logitech's software yet. It's USB Wireless.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been researching for a long-needed replacement for my form-before-function magic mouse. After reading reviews I picked this one up and am very happy with it. Very comfortable and ergonomic for medium sized hands (righties only). The 11 buttons (including left and right buttons) are reprogrammable, including keyboard shortcuts, and the sensitivity is too. While 11 sounds like a lot, they are logically placed and easily reached without having to look. I'm still assigning uses for all mine, but I've set some to open apps, type common text (email address, etc.) and other keyboard shortcuts. And it does track brilliantly - precise without being jumpy. The one caveat is that it uses a tiny wireless dongle, so it's not a good fit if you've got one of those newer USB-impaired laptops. It's great on my 2011 iMac.

Right on. I'm glad you like it. I agree with the notion that 11 buttons sounds like a lot, but they're actually in a very comfortable position, so as to not impair my workflow.

I want to give you a small heads up, in case this ever happens to you -- I click my middle mouse button a lot (the button inside the scroll wheel) since it closes tabs in Chrome. Recently, the button started becoming unresponsive and I had to press it harder than usual to get it to register. I put some rubbing alcohol into the wheel mechanism and scrolled it/clicked it a few times, and let it dry. Works like new again. Can't tell you the amount of times that rubbing alcohol has saved my electronics. Again, may never happen to you, but if it does, there's how to fix it. Cheers!
