Hi Guys'n Gals,

I'm in the market for a new Mac to replace my Mid 2011 iMac, i7 3,4 GHz, 16 GB Ram, Radeon 6970M.
It should be a portable one and not break the bank. I plan to use it as my allround PC as well as my Workstation at the office, using it as a Host for a Horizon Desktop.

I know the keyboard layout for horizon isn't the best, but that doesn't matter.

I like the size of the 13 inch MBP and i think the base config would do the job, but i read a lot that the base version is crap. So what do you think, what could be an appropriate buy?

Cheers

Joerg

I’ve been running VMWare Horizon on a Late 2013 15” MacBook Pro for work with no issues.

My opinion is that up to the 2015 is a reliable (and cheaper) purchase until the next MacBook Pro is released. Or a 2019 base model, provided you don’t mind spending a bit more and have a backup Mac in case you need to get the laptop replaced due to the keyboard.

Hi Maflynn,

thanks for your Input. Most of the load happens in my virtual Desktop, so I think horsepower is not the problem ...
