Why does it have to be 10w? 7.5w is the limit for iPhones wirelessly.
I've tried many different wireless chargers, and this is my favorite.

I am on the lookout for a wireless charger and would like to know if there a maxium wattage that is safe to use, ie. not so much that it will damage my xr battery. Is there a standard output for wireless chargers, or are they capable of churning out different levels of power depending on what device they are charging?

It’s very minimal. I was worried about it when I got it after reading reviews but it doesn’t bother me. If you are in a dead silent room, you can hear it a bit. But, if you have a fan running, you don’t hear it at all.
I sleep with it about 1 foot from my head, I keep my ceiling fan on during the night and I don’t hear it.
Ah ok. It does show a black and a white one but they are different prices and look very different, hence why I wondered which one you were referring to.
How have you found its performance? Any concerns that it throws too much power your iphones way?

Not sure why you are seeing different ones. That is odd.
As for usage, I love it. It’s obviously slower than a 10watt iPad charger or 18watt fast charger for my 11Pro, but I typically use it at night anyway so speed doesn't matter.
The phone never really heats up. And I believe the charger monitors how hot it is getting and adjusts the current to prevent overheating.

I have this as well and like it a lot (used it on my XS and now 11 Pro). I especially like the fact that it's on a stand.

I've been using this charger for over a year and my X's battery hasn't suffered any abnormal deterioration. 95% capacity after two years

Best wireless chargers in my opinion are Samsung made. Team apple all the way but I swear their chargers are pretty awesome.
