Hi all,

I currently have an app called img.urls which I've had for years and years, I've had it through multiple OSX/macOS versions. It's very old, unsupported and Intel only. I doubt it'll ever be updated for Apple Silicon.

It gives me a service so I can right click any image and select 'upload to imgur' which does exactly as described.

With macOS Sonoma, it's a bit flakey now. It loads, often I'm unable to minimise or dismiss the window.

So I'm looking for an alternative but struggling to find anything.

Does anyone know of an app, or any method which I can set up to allow me to right click any image file and upload to imgur, but also that copies the full imgur link and ideally adds the appropriate forum [ img] and [ /img] tags.

Also, ideally it would upload to a signed in imgur account.

Thanks.

Sorry about that. I tried to take a look at the one your using now but could not get it. If the application has an installer can you attach it to a post?

Note: curl is mentioned frequently when doing a search.

You can get it here.
Like I say, it works but it's flakey. When I upload something, the window can appear to hang and I can't do anything with it apart from force kill it.
It's already annoying me in Sonoma and I'm pre-empting the need to get something different.

I've been logging onto forums for years but I still don't have a clue what you're talking about.

right click any image file and upload to imgur,
I don't see how it does this but some messing about and trying to find what it's done takes me to the share menu where I have to click shortcuts, find that and then click it. Somewhat more lengthy than a simple right click, upload.

but also that copies the full imgur link
Nothing gets copied to my clipboard.

Nothing is copied to my clipboard so I have no idea if it adds tags or not.

I know for a fact it doesn't do this because nothing has appeared in my signed in imgur account.

I really do appreciate your efforts but your original reply was very condescending and it appears that it's somewhat more complicated than 'logging on to a forum'.

if you want to upload to a signed in Imgur account then you need to create an Imgur app, authorize that app to your account, etc.

anonymous uploads are easy, the shortcut DOES copy to my clipboard but you may have clicked on the link before I fixed it to copy to clipboard.

Yeah you need to right click > share > shortcuts > click shortcut, can't do any better than that within apple shortcuts.

If you're actually just using this to post images to forums (i.e. asking for tags) why not just drag-and-drop the image into your text post? or cmd+c cmd+v

image hosting providers are hardly needed anymore, most forums support posting images directly

Which is exactly what I'm asking for, whether anyone know of anything which actually works and is a suitable replacement for img.urls.

Not all do, the main ones I use, don't. Hence the requirement.

Seems like there's a gap in the market for some enterprising developer.
