Well I guess I haven't been using iPhone enough, I'm shocked to find out apps now can have access to your iTunes synced music.

I'm mainly looking for something minimalist with least online features as possible, preferably a paid app with no user tracking or draconian privacy policy. I need it to be able to sort the music by Artist -> Album. A bonus if it can do Genre -> Artist -> Album, which seems to be nonexistence.
Thanks.

edit: I’m now using Onkyo HF Player and Ever Play.

A good example of a good offline player is "Pulsar" on Android, so I'm looking for something similar. I'm trying out "Ever Play" right now which is okay. I’m guessing it’s already one of the better one. Worse case scenario I can use foobar2000, which does everything I want, but I really prefer something with nicer interface.

Thanks.

I use Documents by Readdle. It works well not sure if it can sort the music by artist however.

All the third-party apps I've tried only work if you got MP3s or non-iTunes content on your iPhone. If I download Amazon MP3 purchases it won't show on Apple Music, and anything I bought from iTunes refuses to show up on any third-party app.

I use Evermusic:

I use MePlayer which allows me to download Youtube songs for free offline litsening. But I am unable to install it on my new device. Perhaps Apple removed it from App store. However it is still downloaded in my Phone and best application so far for offline and background playing.

They might have removed it on newer iPhones.

I got tons of older games/apps I played back when I first created my Apple ID in 2011, but most are no longer compatible with modern iOS devices. You can pull up your 'purchased' list and it will grey out the install button and the description will likely say "The developer hasn't updated this app to run on iOS 11 and up"

A shame, I miss Angry Birds and Sky Gamblers: Rise of Flight. The former at least I can play on an old Android 2.3 phone.

Hey, I'm the developer of Plum Music Player. It's an app made specifically with iTunes users in mind (I myself have over 16k songs in my library) and I urge you to give it a try :)

As a bonus, it supports Spotify!

It's free to download from the App Store, let me know if you like it and don't hesitate to recommend it to your friends!

I really need the ability to sort by genre -> artist -> album. Onkyo HF Player is the only one I find that can do that, but the UI is a bit cumbersome.

Tried Kaisertone? it's the one i use on my iphone, allows you to use "music" music and also load your own music files (mp3, aac, flac, etc...) to the device, wich appears as a separate tab, as to not mix with the itunes library.

altrought not easily visible it has the option to sort by genre > artist > album. (bottom right, other > genres > artist > album.) also it has a pretty decent sound engine and interface, started using it after i coudn't deal with the clunckness of the onkyo HF UI, altrought Onkyo sounds better on hi-res files.
