I'm looking for a free FTP application.. any suggestions?

I think you will find CyberDuck mentioned most for the Mac, although there is an addon for FireFox if you use that (FireFTP)

Yes, I have FireFTP with FireFox but I'm using Safari now

I use cyberduck and it works fine so I will recommend that too.

Used it for years with nary a problem.
