Okay, I ended up not getting the ATHs. This is my list of options at the moment:

• Ultrastone HFI-450

• M-AUDIO Studiophile Q40 (I heard that these are great for bass, but have build quality issues. Is this true?)

• AKG K99
• AKG K77

Which ones are best?

Try listening to:
- Audio Technica M50
- Shure SRH840
- Ultrasone HFI-580
- HiFiMan RE-400 (IEM)
- Shure SE215 (IEM)

Just pick the one that sounds best to you.

How are the Panasonic RP-HTF600s? They look very appealing for the price ($40).
How do the Panasonics compare to the Ultrastones/M-Audios?

The only thing it's good at is bass. The mids and highs aren't that good.

The mids are the most important frequencies in my opinion, so I think it's best to go for something else. But if you are happy with the sound, then buy it ofcourse :)

The Ultrasone has a similar problem. I don't like this headphone either. It's best to stay away from Ultrasone headphones in general as they got an annoying "S" sound.

I can't comment on the M-audio's.

Okay, I am buying soon, but I am deciding between these two:

#1: Panasonic RP-HTF600 ($36)
#2: Sennheiser HD 419 ($34)

Which are better?

EDIT: I made a posting on Head-Fi forums asking the same question, and they recommended the HD 419s. Are they truly better than the Panasonic?

Get the creative aurvana live. If you absolutely want a Sennheiser then get the 280pro.

Unfortunately, I had to change my budget from $120 to $50. So that removes the Creative! and the 280 Pro from my list. I decided to go with the HD 419, and I got a good deal too ($35 from B&H). I will review them when they come in.

Okay, I just got my new Sennheiser HD 419s, and I am in LOVE with them!

First of all, they look very good. I am loving the all-black design. They are also VERY comfy and light-weight.

Second of all, they isolate noise, even at lowest volumes, but they leak sound at higher volumes.

Third of all, they sound AMAZING!!! I have tried out Beats, Bose, Sony, Koss, Samson, Maxell, Skullcandy, JVC, and more, and these sound better than ALL of them! AMAZING BASS without ruining mids/highs. And, they go REALLY loud! No amp needed! I ran through all of my music on them, and not ONE song sounds bad!

I am very happy of my decision to go with the HD 419, and will definitely choose Sennheiser for my next pair.
