Looking for good store card app

I just came across this article:
http://www.applegazette.com/iphone/create-your-own-passbook-cards-coupons-tickets/ that discusses several apps in the works for making store cards that are compatible with passbook. It is a bit disappointing to see how ridiculously expensive some of these offerings are or will be.

I just want an app that will work with my local grocery stores for scanning in all of those darn keyfobs that I'm sick of carrying around, and it really doesn't have to be passbook compatible. If already out there, can anyone recommend good ones for this purpose?

Cardstar is reasonably popular for that purpose.

I use CardStar...the only issue with any of these apps is that only about 50% of the store scanners can read the barcode from the iPhone screen.
