Ok, I got a USB-C/HDMI adapter for my iMac to watch YouTube videos on my “old” TV…
now I am trying to set up my iPad to use as a mouse/controller to control the iMac/YouTube controls,
& Switch Control is honestly the most frustrating awful thing ever. Oh my gosh.

Took me all day to get control of my iPad back,
now my iMac is basically useless…
ok,
1) is there a watch to reset my iMac without erasing content,
like there is with my iPad?

2) how do i easily set up iPad as a mouse to easily control my iMac?

i'm going to pull my hair out
omg :(

this is insane

Sorry to hear it's been so frustrating. Hopefully, we can help you NOT have to do all that work and erase/reset your iMac.

How and why is your iMac basically useless? Is it not switching back?

yeah. i have Bluetooth off, Switch Control off... it's still using Switch Control

and the switch setting is off in your Accessability?

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Switch Control and turn the setting on or off. You can also triple-click the Home button or the Side button on certain models at any time to exit Switch Control.

ok so i had my iMac in Sleep Mode, & it shut down by itself while i was asleep,

but if anyone can help me with Accessibility, can you let me know?
& actually i also want to learn so i can use it with my young patients at the hospital
& maybe they can use my iPad for playing games :)

have you tried a hard reboot? Holding down your power button on your Mac until it reboots? On your iPad, its up sound button, down sound button and hold the power button until it reboots, do not swipe to shut down if it prompts to do so.
