I have been on the fence for years about Apple Music. I have done a lot of research and read about the horror stories of how it has messed up someone’s library and it has just caused me to never give it a try. Currently my music library consists of 3,459 songs. Those songs are a mixture of songs purchased from the iTunes Store and also ripped from cds. I would say probably maybe a 1,000 of those songs or maybe not even that were ripped from cds out of that total.
I added up how much I have spent on iTunes this year by looking at my purchase history and this year alone I have spent $77.63 on music from the iTunes Store. For 2017 my total was $164.12. I also believe previous years that total was probably more than that because I have been on the fence about Apple Music and have kind of been cautious of what I buy from there as of lately. The other thing too is that there used to be a lot more sales on iTunes. There used to be albums that were on sale and .69 songs all the time and the past couple years there is none of that.
The horror stories that I have read about Apple Music is that once iCloud match matches your ripped music from your computer, sometimes it changes the artwork and song information. I have also read of how it can change your albums from being not live to live albums. I have been really afraid to just give it a try because I don’t want it to mess up the library I have spent years building. Also about 2 years ago, I went through my entire music library and matched my ripped albums to what iTunes has- for example when I rip a cd, all the song titles are in lowercase. I went through and capitalized song titles like they show on iTunes for consistency with my iTunes purchases and ripped cds.
If I subscribe to Apple Music and don’t like it and decide to get rid of it- will I lose the library I already have? Do I have to worry about it deleting any of my current library? I am going to attach screenshots of what is in my music library vs Apple Music because I noticed one day for a ripped album I have, Apple Music only has an album with a few songs on it, how does ICloud music library handle this, will it match my ripped album or not? I will post screenshots showing further what I am talking about.
Please reply back, I am looking for all the feedback I can get. Thanks everyone.

Here is my first example. It involves the album Red by Taylor Swift. I purchased the target deluxe album way back when and ripped it to my library. This is how my album is in my library.

This is how Apple Music shows it. I have mine named target deluxe version and they only have deluxe version. I have 1-16 for the first cd and 1-6 for the second cd since it is a 2 cd album and they have continuous song naming. How will iCloud match handle this one?

Here is another example. I have the full cd in my library. See above.
[doublepost=1541920662][/doublepost]This is what Apple Music has. Not even the full album. I hope if I have Apple Music, that it won’t delete the tracks I have that are ripped from my cd. EA553E39-3776-45AB-AC7D-372C6136BB19.pngD8690D8B-3082-4116-918F-D5C899AB185A.png

Just reopening this thread. Didn’t receive any feedback. Hopefully I can hear from someone. Thanks.
