    Hi,

I am looking to get an external 4+ bay solution that have firewire capability. Could someone w/ experience with the product suggest some viable solutions? I've looked at the OWC but not sure if they are reliable. I didn't find much feedback on the product. From research Ive read Drobo take a lot of capacity and slow.

    Thanks

I have 2 of the OWC Elite Pro qx2 units (4 drive can be raid5), and they both have been excellent units. I have both hooked up to my mini server in my basement currently serving as time machine backup. They are relatively quiet, and have been very good performers. I would buy another one if needed and of course OWC rocks.

Oh and I have a drobo (version 2) sitting in my file room that is collecting dust, FWIW. (will let go cheap :) _
